Ambassador Tigran Balayan met with Cardinal of Luxembourg and the head of the national commission for UNESCO

From 7th to 8th of June, ambassador Tigran Balayan who was in Luxembourg for a working visit met with Cardinal of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Hollerich, the head of the national commission of UNESCO Simon Beck, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, parliamentary factions, political forces and business circles.

Tigran Balayan handed over a picture of Pope Francis to Cardinal Hollerich, which was taken during the visit of Pontifex to Armenia in 2016. During the meeting they touched upon Christian roots of the both peoples and their friendly relations. The interlocutors discussed possibilities of deepening mutually beneficial relations and enhancing collaboration between the Armenian Apostolic and Luxembourg’s Catholic Churches.

At the meeting with the head of the national commission for UNESCO Ambassador Balayan briefed the latter about the war crimes committed by Azerbaijan in Artsakh, which resulted in complete or partial destruction of the Armenian religious-cultural monuments in the regions that are currently under Azerbaijani control.
